Meet Sherrine N eely Beasley

Queen Talk Café Site Creater, Artist, Writer, Retired School Clerk & Church Admin., Deaconess, Women's Leader,

President of 501c3, GW Carver Alumni Association, Inc.

Sherrine Neely Beasley, Author of “In This House”, was born in 1951 to a teenage mother, in the home of her godmother, who was a mid-wife, on McDaniel Street in the Atlanta area called Pittsburg, a family neighbor community of clean, well-kept bungalow houses and duplexes. Because her mother was a young, unwed teen, and as was common in those days, Sherrine was sent to live with a barren great-aunt until her mother was old enough and grown enough to properly take care of her. During the nearly nine years she spent with her great-aunt she often found refuge with her maternal grandmother whom she adored, and later returned to grow up with her mother.

Sherrine took to heart everything she observed, experienced, and was taught, not knowing how often she would have to draw upon those lessons in her library of life as she journeyed through the 1950s at East Point Elementary, then W.H. Crogman Elementary, and the 1960s at George Washington Carver High School in Atlanta. She graduated from Atlanta Technical College with an Associate's Degree in Architectural Drafting. After eleven years in drafting, she later changed careers with clerical and computer training entering the Clerical/Administrative field.

Sherrine is married to Kenneth Beasley. She is a deaconess, and he is a deacon. They have four successful children, eleven smart and talented grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Sherrine says it is her passion and honor to teach them about their family ancestry while encouraging them to always seek to excel in all of their endeavors.

“The Inspirations”

Matthew 5:16 says, “Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify the Father, which is in Heaven.” Lizzie Neely, her Grandmother, always said, “Never dim your Light for anyone. Never be afraid to be all that you were created to be.” Sherrine recalls, “This is a culmination of lessons and inspirations that made me who I am. It is what I taught my own four children who are now successful adults.”
